A few months ago, I attended Anand Vaidya’s launch ceremony for his 2nd Marathi album, Mumbai born artist Aria Menahone. Currently residing in Holland, Aria has had quite a journey and it’s simply wonderful to see him live, do his set and say that these songs are ones he would want to lay his hands on to play when inspiration strikes.


Why? Well, like Vaidya he is somewhat controversial. You can tell because while the overwhelming majority of his audience booed his set, some individuals sang along with him! I consider this to be the musical equivalent of having a ‘ho ho boo’ moment. Fans tend to enjoy his pop songs and the occasional country tunes sprinkled throughout, but too many of them tend to detract from his established performances. So, there are still a lot of people singing along with him in the studio. Then they quickly look off stage as his band mates start pounding drums to fill up the ambiance.


Watching his performance though is always an awesome treat. In fact, there is very little to say about his performances other than his eccentricities. You could check out your favorite Marathi celeb getting down on the floor to sing along with N. Manikantan playing their part, after which his feet are stamped on the floor and then he takes a bow. But really, if you do choose to check him out, you should just catch a glimpse of his self-exhaling body and his head nodding as he sings.


After watching an interview with Vaidya back in 2013, it was apparent that he had such a big personality and it only made him more attractive to women. Which is why he felt he needed to retire from acting due to all the attention he was receiving. And once he retired, he devoted himself to music. The recording of his 2 albums so far came about around the same time.


So how does Aria perform? He is featured on his first album as well as the follow-up.

The name is entirely wrong, I suspect. The list is almost exactly the same as below; in the future, you will be receiving a signal on each side of the "centerline", but instead of a red "D" you will get a dot.
