Brisbane Bullets Vs Cairns Taipans

1. Australia vs Norway “Punters” – Brisbane Bullets & TAFFC Dalladay Cup / Mile End and the world’s biggest stadium – Cairns in the new stadium…this is possibly my favourite Australian sport team in recent years. My dad and I used to be massive HFC customers and all but every game of it was great. Of course the HFC atmosphere is amazing, though some aspects haven’t aged like wine which is more painful after 3 hours in the pub. Australia have talent and have a great attitude and really showed the cup off, with brave form following 2 set-pieces. But unlike Oz who actually gave credit to a team that underperformed and paid the price for fielding substandard sides, our hard-working boys just kept running and were their normal self. It was so intense going for kicks/runs and maintaining body contact at times. They are an ace team and show confidence and fun when out there against the best of the competition. I couldn’t look away from Cairns and loved it too.

2. Japan vs Suruga Bank / Nagoya Haruna Bishōnen and the passion of hometown fans to bring you this rematch of two Aussie Super Shots. Yeah, I am afraid I am wrong, Nagoya did perform decently well in 2015, but I honestly think Japan has much better chances of beating these quality Brisbane Bullets side than did Australia.

3. West Indies / Sri Lanka - Zebedee Karsegga v Kojima Yoshimoto and a rematch of last year’s Super Shots. West Indies had the best performance of the tournament, with Alex Chester in the box keeping them in touch throughout, despite playing through nerves. South Africa also fought together well, and while I feel like we will disappoint them, I am glad they didn’t go out in the first round. One thing I kind of love about West Indies is how they give back to the sport, and in the near future I see their strong player development project coming to life. YOL. In the first round, they showed that they take pride in chasing a championship and never settle for anything short of a title. Unlike South Africa, they stood by the pursuit of titles, even in winning only one game.
