Rickey Smiley Nephew Who Passed Away


According to PBT, Rickey passed away on December 4, 2019.

The siblings had been struggling with suicidal ideation since shortly after their second birthday.

Rickey was a talented member of his church which led him to serve alongside Eric and Marlen.

They attend Messiah Assemblies of God, which is the largest non-denominational Christian denomination in New Jersey.

Rickey inspired hundreds of fellow congregants to self-harm at times.


Authorities have confirmed that Rickey was found unresponsive at the house where he made numerous attempts to take his own life.


That evening, police went to a residence on Blue Hill Drive for an unknown reason.


Approximately 5:15 p.m. -- almost five hours after officers arrived -- officers found Rickey dead from apparent suicide behind a screened out porch.


Neighbors told ABC7 News they were not aware of Rickey being suicidal.


It was later noted that Rickey may have posted several self-harming messages on social media.


Rickey appeared to have been following the killing through the suicide message board platform Discord before the fatal interaction.

Why am I feeling so alone and scared? This isn’t happening to me.


I killed myself. It’s alright. I was having a great time and there are other people that are going to be saying all these awful things. I cannot stop you, God.


God, I can’t stop you from blaming yourself, and I truly appreciate it.


Please pray for me. I am so sad to hear that everyone will say horrible things about me and how terrible I am. Please.


Remember me. And always protect your children from me.


Stay strong. My heart is broken.

The list is almost exactly the same as below; in the future, you will be receiving a signal on each side of the "centerline", but instead of a red "D" you will get a dot.
