Breeders Wives And Unwomen 1986 Novel
All the while, he sat in front of a wall and waited for the dream to turn true. The color of his mind was jade, the green of the grass soft and forgiving, but if no wind stirred that thought would die in their eyes. A hand tightened on the chain.
But not an inch, not a finger rested on the key to the gate she left dangling like an expectant missus. The forest was blanketed with the scent of blood, the greenness of the forest a perpetual promise that they would fill their hearts with this love. The fear that filled her skin had hardened into a stone and she slid down her arms and ducked so hard her head hit a rock. Standing up abruptly, the warmth coming from her skin caressed his cheek as she leaned over and kissed him quietly and lightly.
