Buggy The Clown Funko

Okay, fine. But to be honest, the title is a bit misleading. I mean, I know what these are, but the label doesn't come close to explaining them.


So, here they are, then: The Gravediggers (Funko Pop). A definite example of how once an idea hits you and it soars, it just naturally expands out of control. Something very unusual and/or original, something that came out of nowhere and just began to spread around one night.


I mean, didn't we all already know it was called "Poor Frogs?" Isn't it weird? I mean, look at them. Here they are, proudly proclaiming themselves as a "Bad Funk," simply because they can't produce any better than this. Toss in that the artwork is goofy even if the animation is flawless, and you've got yourself some pretty fantastic pieces.


It's actually kind of funny, because I consider myself to be a big fan of Fox Ren and his productions, and he started doing a lot of classic 1980's American cartoonish comedy with Jay Ward and Tom Servo that was straight ahead, slapstick horror comedy. So, along with this, I honestly looked up to Mark Hamill as Batman and Robin and thought I'd have a blast seeing him on TV. His performance and his personal image came later, but still, just from a comedic point of view - it had that perfect quality.


Anyway, after a long process, the very talented Funko artists here did their thing. The guys behind this company did their thing, and I figured it'd be a really fun thing to give thanks. I put it in the liner notes of the actual DVD, and I don't know if they'll ever listen, but I guess I gave thanks for a great time.


Who is the main character, the protagonist, or what? I can't give too much away, but let's just say, you get an orange jumpsuit and a gun, and a teddy bear and an angel, and a zombie clown. What's not to like? Well...


- A lot of good laughs. Lots of new ways to express yourself. Classic spoofs of genre icons. Also, excellent animation and wonderfully colorful CG. You'll never believe it's this over-the-top, but it's true.
