##### Lecithron Del اصطراب جوليسي هاو ديسماغ الاحبام

The Book:

Allied troops in Persia during World War II, as reported in _Secret Intelligence_ magazine (New York: Hippocrene Books, 1946), and published originally in 1941.

* The authors, [Edward] Perrin, [Ted Jay] Stoebe, and Anthony Kimball, respectively, would go on to write _Operation Nemesis_ ; its follow-up, _Nemesis and Judas Iran_ (translated by Frank Kermode), is republished as Volume 2 of the Hibernia series.

* Ray Salisbury (editor and reporter) introduced it; after publication it had an extensive English-language reissue, with a new introduction by Tom Scheer.

For a short, readable account of this period, be sure to read _The Official Story_, compiled by Jeffrey Herman (New York: Atheneum, 1978).

"It is impossible to get a good report from the front line at a stage when the very lives are at stake."

—from _Secret Intelligence: Recollections of a Radio Spotter_ (New York: Scribner's, 1952). This is so iconic here that the author was actually sent to the Allied side of Normandy; he remained on the Allied side after the war, and his anecdotes are corroborated in this chapter.

Lecithron Del is mentioned in the same chapter as [Sion Gerson, later the chief US intelligence official in the State Department]; he was so wounded that a kidney required amputation.
