FATHER OF A FAMILY INJURED BY SURVIVOR
This is the story of Vincent “Eddie” Viera, a 44-year-old father of a young family who was among the first fatalities in Albuquerque, N.M., on July 11. There were no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in this small town in the first few days of the crisis, but given the fact that the virus exploded in recent weeks in other cities, residents and hospitals are now worried about what will happen in other parts of the state.
A day after seven people died in Albuquerque, a lone gunshot wound made the beginning of a beautiful transition in the community. From the public house where Eddie Viera lived, streets were bright with bright lights and honking horns. From apartment complex yards, kids ran towards cars, bikes waved, a little girl wore long wigs with plastic fish on them.
Another child wandered around the city wearing a bright orange school shirt, holding the starlet’s hand as she ran along a streetlight. They quickly flashed by a group of barefoot students under a tree. Once they reached a house, Eddie answered the door, nodding his head in greeting as he walked up to the front door and was shown home.
