Ewen: I would like the president to now open himself up to any feedback that he is willing to accept from us.


Tonight's comments from the cable news networks are making it clear to White House loyalists that the audience wasn't playing for high stakes, but with some real dissatisfaction right in front of them.


Fox News' Shannon Bream reports:


"This is new," said John Aravosis, an MSNBC contributor. "Usually when a person that is considered a trusted member of the administration opens up more than they wanted to, you know, they actually hurt themselves. And if that's the message of tonight's comments, it definitely wasn't what I had hoped for."


Daily Beast's Mike Allen added:


Aravosis got into the exchange after President Obama took the stage at Fox News' PrimeTime Live, an hour-long'reality' show dedicated to discussing policy issues. "We've all seen the debates before," Aravosis said. "The question -- and if you're even looking for it, the answer -- always there is where can we get him?"


In an e-mail to TheBlaze, Aravosis confirmed he's frustrated by the outcome of tonight's debate.

The lead-off move from Fox News was the confirmation that its star investigative reporter John Bolton had been present for last night's debate. Bolton was named to the first all-important list of candidates for Secretary of Defense while on the air.


Because this will be the only debate between these candidates, things should be coming fast and furious. Any moment now, we can expect this list to be made public and the final candidates will fly to Washington Wednesday evening.


Nothing is more important then a victory, and so as we continue to learn who is the likely next pick for Defense secretary, we cannot be stopped.


So if anyone is looking for a real winner, the Republican candidate clearly is Ben Wattenberg (P.S.T.O.V.E.R.).
