Paul Pelosi Attack Staged
by Adam Baldwin: For too long, Donald Trump’s administration treated everything associated with the Committee for Russian Contributions to American Elections (RCCA) as an election offense when, in fact, it was nothing less than a crime.
This was later revealed to be a fabrication that President Trump was happy to commit.
In a bizarre and ultimately illogical move that almost every Washington insider should applaud, the White House released letters that President Trump sent to Congress on February 1, 2017, which appeared to suggest that the RCCA was indeed a criminal conspiracy.
The letters did not specify what constituted criminal activity; instead, their content described Russians hiding their identities to influence this congressional investigation.
These actions were highly deceptive — and at the very least utterly inconsistent with the constitutional process of oversight.
When the Constitution was ratified, it had three roles:
It was meant to protect the rights of the people,
It was intended to require government officials to report illegal conduct,
And it was meant to provide the American people with a voice in the government.
These powers are mutually exclusive but most Americans believe they are present within them. The RCCA was particularly important to keep an eye on, because it provided information on alleged foreign funding of D.C. races. It was a tool of transparency used by the Democrats to serve the interests of their liberal base.
The committee’s probe into issues including PACs, lobbying, executive branch conduct, and money laundering attracted national attention. Although it initially delayed elections in the D.C. area, recent media reports indicate it may now be making a criminal case against the Republican nominee for president.
The investigation led to a significant witch hunt about Russia spending heavily on Democratic coffers. As the president himself said, “They came in and made a lot of money, and there was a lot of it. And some of it, many of it was Democrat-made. They spent a fortune!”
During the 2011 primary, Obama went on television to accuse Russian meddling in the election, saying, “We cannot allow Vladimir Putin to get away with this.” However, the first presidential debate of 2012 gave Republicans who accused the Obama administration of a gross double standard a chance to tie themselves to the president’s false statement.
